Lauren and David’s Coldplay/Muse Wedding at Chateau Elan

There were two firsts for me at Lauren and David’s September 20 wedding:

1) It was the first time I ever played at Chateau Elan Winery and Resort;

2) It was the first time I ever played Coldplay  — or Muse — at a wedding!

As you can see from the photos (which are all courtesy of Sarah-Slavik Photography), Chateau Elan is breathtakingly beautiful.

While the guests arrived for the ceremony, I played my usual prelude music — Bach and Mozart minuets, sonatinas by Beethoven and Clementi, that sort of thing.

Then the mothers were seated to “Love Song” by The Cure Adele.

For the processional, I played “Don’t Panic,” by Coldplay. The bouquets were from  Flowers from Us.

Lauren made her bridal entrance to possibly the most unusual request I’ve ever had for a bridal entrance song — “Map of the Problematique” by Muse — proving once again that any style of music sounds wonderful on the piano!

Jessica Perry, owner of Rouge Salon in Alpharetta, did Lauren’s hair, as well as her bridesmaids’. Beautiful!

During the ceremony, David and Lauren each lit a candle in honor of relatives that were no longer with them, while I played “Bliss” by Muse.

The recessional song was “Charlie Brown” by Coldplay. After the guests went ahead to the reception, I continued playing (the songs were too fun to not play them again!) while the bridal party got their photos taken.

And then, after I left, David and Lauren had several beautiful shots taken outside.

Everybody looks like they were ready for some fun at the reception:

The rentals were from Steve Hicks at LTL Events and DJ Louie was in charge of the entertainment.

The cakes were provided by McEntyre’s Bakery. What do you think of this clever bride’s/groom’s cake idea?

And off they go!

So now I have new songs to add to my repertoire! 🙂

A special thanks to Sarah Slavik Photography for kind use of their great pictures, and to the always-organized Erica Prewett at A Big To Do Event for pulling all of this together!
