My Grueling Research on Disney Honeymoon Tips

To the untrained eye, it looks like I just went on a vacation to Disney World with my family.

Atlanta Wedding Pianist Jennifer Blaske goes to Disney World for honeymoon tips Ah, but in reality I was hard at work, arduously researching for a post on Planning Your Disney Honeymoon.

Hey, it’s a tough job, but someone’s got to do it.

When to Visit

Our trip was the week before Thanksgiving week, which I thought was perfect. Not only were the crowds relatively low (The Crowd Calendar was at a 2 or 3 almost every day we were there), but the Christmas decorations were already up and the Christmas music was playing!

Where to Eat

Biergarten at Epcot

The only restaurant I got a photo of was Biergarten at Germany in Epcot, a buffet with a live music show every hour. I would highly recommend going close to, or even on, the dance floor during the performance (if you look closely, you can see me dancing on the far right.)

The other restaurant we got reservations for  was Whispering Canyon Cafe at the Wilderness Lodge (which was a nice boat ride from the Magic Kingdom), which was not only good food but had a very “campy” feel. (I won’d ruin the surprise by telling you what happens if you ask for ketchup.)

But you know what was the big food hit on this trip? (I mean, besides all the cream cheese pretzels.)

The counter service restaurants!

Yes, my oldest daughter said she couldn’t wait to go back to Sunshine Seasons and order the grilled salmon and mashed potatoes again;

I loved the ribs and ambiance at Flame Tree BBQ at Animal Kingdom;

and Columbia Harbour House was a pretty big hit too, especially since good counter service food is hard to find at the Magic Kingdom.

And the Most Important, Number One Piece of Disney Advice?

Wear good shoes!

I mean, really good shoes.

I purchased these Merrell Sandals and was the only person in our family that never suffered from sore feet on the entire trip. I will absolutely never go to Disney, or anywhere else that I need to walk for a long time, without them!
