One of my favorite things about being a wedding pianist is that I get to go to so many beautiful places and see so many interesting things.
A few months ago I had the pleasure of playing at my first wedding at the Georgia Aquarium, which is in downtown Atlanta next to the World of Coke and across the street from Centennial Olympic Park.
For the ceremony, I played Canon in D and the Bridal March, and then accompanied the maid of honor, who sang “Can’t Help Falling in Love With You.”
It was a small, very intimate wedding, and after the ceremony I also played dinner music for the reception, which I always enjoy. I can’t remember exactly what I played that day, but I’m sure that it included some Beatles and Billy Joel — and Sinatra’s “New York, New York,” which I almost always play at cocktail hours and receptions.
I thought the cake was so adorable! I was told later that it was provided by PĂȘche Petite Boutique Bakery, and that it tasted as good as it looked.
A big thanks to Kermit Sprinkles for providing these lovely photos.
