Outdoor Spring Wedding at Flint Hill

People often wonder if they can still enjoy the elegance and versatility of piano music at an outdoor wedding.

The answer is: Yes, they can!

In late May I played for a lovely outdoor wedding ceremony and cocktail hour for Natalie and Andrew at Flint Hill in historic Norcross.

Andrew is an army officer, as you can see from the photos.

Thank you for your service, Andrew!

I learned two new songs for the ceremony — “Love Story” by Taylor Swift and “100 Years” by Five For Fighting (which I particularly liked). For the prelude I played pieces by Scarlatti, Bach, and Beethoven, and for the cocktail hour I played a wide range of standards and pop music.

The lovely girl standing behind me is my daughter Rebecca, who I hired to help me transport and set up my digital piano and be my general gofer. Since my Yamaha digital piano is a hundred pounds, I always need an assistant, and she did a great job.

A special thanks to Chris with Camera for sharing these fantastic photos!
